Also see: ‘A Snow Filled Winter in Ladakh – Photography Tour‘ Manish Lakhani discovered Ladakh well before anyone else did. Before its was ‘the destination’ that everyone wanted to visit, before it was cool to show-off beautiful images from Ladakh or even before many people had heard about a land called Ladakh. More interestingly, during his visits, he was exploring a side of Ladakh not known to many people even today. His forays into the land of high passes would happen at a time when few visitors go there, when the weather is hostile, birds become silent and the trees shed their leaves and go bear. Manish’s love affair with Ladakh belonged to winter months. It is a decade since he has been visiting Ladakh in the cold season, when the land is covered with snow, the lakes are frozen and the rivers become lazy. Here is a collection of his images of winters in Ladakh. Also see more works of Manish here. Landscape near Tangtse Village Frozen Evening over Pangong Tso Semi-frozen Indus river in winter months.
