In the spirit of keeping photographers connected, and to share and learn together, we have built a small community of photography-enthusiasts who have learnt and travelled with Darter Photography. The community stays connected by sharing images, discussing photography related questions, sharing travel/photography related information and also by taking-up a photography challenge every fortnight. The last fortnight, we ran a challenge on the theme ‘DUSK’. The group enthusiastically presented their beautiful images of the evening hour. Here is a small collection of them.

Sunset light from my trip to Mullayangiri. The array of colors was a treat. Photograph & caption by Nitin Vyas.
Dusk over Chao Phraya River. Shot this during the twilight, with the sun just having gone down and city lights coming up, lovely color of the dusk in the sky, with city lights adding to the glitter. This is one of my favourite times to shoot. Photograph and captions by Manish Gajria.
We were relaxing after our evening safari at Greater Rann of Kutch, with the Darter group, watching the sun set. Dusk was setting in. The sky above was shades of orange and yellow. We suddenly saw this huge flock of common cranes flying above us. The contrast was beautiful, and I managed to make this photograph, on December 19, 2012. Photograph and captions by Sheila Castelino
We’d spent very little time making non-wildlife photographs at LRK while on the Darter trip there. It would have been an absolute pity to miss this wonderful sunset at the Rann though. It also gave us an opportunity to showcase the featureless habitat – I for one didn’t want to just make a close up photograph of the cracked soil. Photograph and captions by Sumeet Moghe.
I will remember this evening, which is one of the most rocking evening i can say. This picture is part of my time lapse movie trial, which obvious failed as I did lots of mistakes and could not produce movie. Idea was to capture evening mood of Tsokar in time lapse as it was really sunny and clear evening. Over tents were pitched at place were Changpa nomads keep their flocks during winter, place was not so nice but just warm enough to spend clod nights .. Photograph and captions by Manish Lakhani.
