The Magic of Monsoon
As the monsoons came and drenched the parched lands, we asked our Darter Photographers community members to share their monsoon pictures with small captions. We received a wide variety of pictures from dark clouds to water logged roads as each photographer shared their pictures and interpretation of Monsoon. We are sharing here 10 selected pictures that were most liked by the Darter Photographers.
We entered Somanathapur and it started pouring like anything. We just managed to enter the premises. We were waiting in the mandap that was opposite to the main temple of Chennakeshava waiting for the rain to stop. That is when I saw this lady outside the temple waiting for rain to stop. I had my tele lens and just took the opportunity to capture the moment.—- Parimala Ranganath
We had stopped to watch the rains somewhere on the Kerala-Karnataka border. I thought I’d try a very plain/minimalist style and try and capture the lush green paddy fields–which for me, always evoke a memory of rain–with the raindrops settling on our car window.– Suchi Govindarajan
This was clicked in Fort Kochi. The roadside vendors had displayed the colorful umbrellas trying to catch attention of the passers by in the spirit of monsoon— Shivali Agarwal

I took this image of Saravathi river while on the way to Jog Falls. The rain in the distance was in complete contrast with the sunshine at the view point. — Sanjay Dandekar
Thhe monsoons transforms the forest as if someone has waved a magic wand. From dry cracking leaves and twigs and browned wilted bamboo from the heat of the Indain summer, it changes to varied hues of green- the light green of the grass, the dark green of the trees interspersed with shades of yellow, the glinting of raindrops, the fresh clean air. It is a wonderful time to visit the forest and spend time with Mother Nature. This picture was taken during my last visit to Kanha in the monsoon.—- Nitin Vyas
