An evening in the tea estates of Munnar. You may have seen images of rolling hills and tea estates of Munnar in several tourist brochures and advertisements. Here is a close-up of one such estate, on the way to one of the highest tea gardens in the region that usually doesn’t see many tourists.

The photograph would probably not have much impact, if it was just tea plants filling up the frame. The road breaking through adds an excellent contrast to the greenery and catches the attention of the viewer. The lone jeep going through the road adds a human touch and life to the image, and also indicates how lonely and inaccessible the road is likely to be.
