Iceland, both by day and by night, is a fairytale land that is on every nature photographer’s dream destinations.This October, join us on a landscape photography tour to the incredibly picturesque Iceland. This tour has been timed in such a way that we have both plenty of daylight to photograph the beautiful landscapes, and enough nighttime to photograph the spectacle of the Northern Lights. We have designed the tour carefully, with comfortable travel and accommodation, aided by an Icelandic driver-guide throughout the tour. With two photography mentors on board this tour, get ready to create some amazing photographs and unforgettable memories!
And the best part – with the solar activity reaching its peak in 2024-25, the Northern Lights are expected to be at their brightest in 20 years!

On several nights when the potential of the appearance of the Northern Lights is high, we would go out to photograph the night skies.The itinerary is tentative and may be changed by your photography mentor depending on the weather, photography opportunities available and the group dynamics. This tour requires a quorum of eight persons.
Photography Mentor: Manish Lakhani
Manish Lakhani has been mentoring photography enthusiasts for several years now, and is known for his exuberant personality, in-depth knowledge of the terrain, expedition organization skills and his keen eye for photography. Few people can boast of having travelled in the mountains like Manish has. For more than 20 years, he has explored the mountains of Asia extensively on foot, on bicycles and on two and four-wheels, often making his own path. He is a versatile photographer, with a brilliant portfolio of images of culture, heritage and landscapes across Asia.
He is a Sony Artisan (Ambassador) in India for mirrorless camera system and Skylum Global Brand Ambassador for Asia. His works have been regularly featured in magazines across the world. He contributes to Adobe, BBC, WWF, CNN, Lonely Planet and many others regularly.
An avid cyclist, he has made an incredible solo bicycling trip of 15,000 kilometres across India. He visited many states of India, meeting different people, experiencing diverse cultures and making some amazing photographs along the journey. He has since led many expeditions in the remote regions across Asia

This tour is for everyone who would love to experience and photograph the Northern Lights, landscapes, waterfalls and beautiful beaches in Iceland. The tour is designed to help participants learn the nuances of making beautiful photographs of landscapes through an immersive experience in Iceland. Note that the participants are not required to be experts in photography. Beginners, as well as serious photographers, benefit through our personalized attention to photography sessions and on-field assistance. Non-photographers interested in exploring the region are welcome too. Please note that we do not offer separate non-photographer pricing.
Can I bring my non-photographer partner with me?
Yes, you can. There is much enjoyable about this tour even for people who may not be keen photographers, in seeing beautiful locales in Iceland besides Northern Lights. Your partner will enjoy the journey with the group. However, non-photographers should note that our itineraries are designed keeping photography in mind. We are generally slower than typical travel itineraries and don’t make a long sightseeing list. Please note that we do not offer separate non-photographer pricing.
I am not a keen photographer. But I want to join this tour with your group. Can I still join?
Yes. We visit many beautiful places in the region, and having a good time during the trip is as much on the agenda as photography is. However, non-photographers should note that our itineraries are designed keeping photography in mind. We are generally slower than typical travel itineraries and don’t make a long sightseeing list.

Iceland Photography Tour – Detailed Itinerary.
On several nights during this tour, we may head out to photograph the Northern Lights if the weather is found conducive for their appearance. The daily itinerary is tentative and may be changed by your photography mentor to maximize photography opportunities, depending on weather and other influencing factors.
Day 01. Arrive in Reykjavik
Arrive in Reykjavik; from there you will transferred to your hotel in Reykjavík where you can rest and recover from your trip. Later in the day, the group will meet up for introductions, tour briefing and photography-related sessions.
Day 02 & 3. Reykjavik – Snaefellsnes Peninsula.
We will visit the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, one of Iceland’s natural jewels. There you can witness the wild coastlines, the impressive basalt column cliffs of Arnarstapi, the charming black church of Búðir, the lava field of Búðahraun, the fascinating sea pillars of Londrangar and the iconic volcanic mountain of Kirkjufell.
Day 04. Snaefellsnes – Kvernufoss – Skogafoss.
We will begin our fourth day with a sunrise photo shoot at Kirkjufell, one of Iceland’s most iconic landscapes. Then we head towards the south coast to view and photograph the gigantic Skogafoss waterfall and then to the mesmerizing black sand beach of Reynisfjara known for its basalt columns, sea caves and vertical cliffs.
Day 05. Vatnajokull National Park.
We will explore the Vatnajökull National Park, its landscapes of lava rocks, glittering glaciers and breathtaking waterfalls, as well as desert-like stretches of black sand.
Later, we will head to the glacial lagoon of Jökulsárlón, where large icebergs float on the surface of the water, before drifting out to sea. As the sun begins to set, we will go to the diamond beach, where we will have the opportunity to capture the magnificent sunlight shining through the ice chunks on the shore.
Day 06. Vatnajokull National Park.
We begin the day with a sunrise photo session at the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. Afterwards, we will go on a 4-hour excursion to visit and photograph an ice cave. The rest of the day will be spent photographing the beautiful locations in this area.
Day 07. Vatnajokull National Park – HOFN.
Sunrise at the diamond beach. After breakfast, we will head towards the Stokksnes Peninsula where we will encounter the majestic Vestrahorn Mountain, known as the “Batman Mountain”. From the rolling snow-covered black sand dunes to the icy puddles and grassy fields, Vestrahorn’s foreground offers a variety of stunning compositions to photograph.
Day 08. HOFN – Vik – Selja.
Skaftafell Nature Reserve. Here, you will be able to photograph glacier tongues, lagoons, the peaks of majestic snow-capped mountains, frozen waterfalls and rivers flowing from glaciers. We will visit the Fjadrargljufur Canyon. We will return along the south coast to Seljalandsfoss waterfall for sunset.
Day 09. Gullfoss – Geysir – Þingvellir National Park.
Today we will explore the Golden Circle, which includes three main attractions: the Þingvellir
National Park, where we can observe the tectonic rifts between the continental plates of Eurasia and America; the fascinating geothermal area of Geysir, where we will see the famous Strokkur geyser; and the massive Gullfoss waterfall, which is famous for its powerful double-tiered waterfall into a deep canyon.When we have finished photographing along the Golden Circle, we will return to Keflavik for the group’s final dinner.
Day 10. Keflavik – End Of The Trip.
It’s time to head home! Hopefully, you have cherished memories with a great bunch of fellow photography enthusiasts and have many beautiful images preserved in your camera as well!

– 25% of the tour fee is charged as a cancellation fee for cancellations earlier than 120 days before the start of a tour.

– 80% of the tour fee is charged as a cancellation fee for cancellations between 59 days and 46 days before the start of a tour.
