Arrive in Reykjavik; from there you will transferred to your hotel in Reykjavík where you can rest and recover from your trip. Later in the day, the group will meet up for introductions, tour briefing and photography-related sessions.
We will visit the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, one of Iceland’s natural jewels. There you can witness the wild coastlines, the impressive basalt column cliffs of Arnarstapi, the charming black church of Búðir, the lava field of Búðahraun, the fascinating sea pillars of Londrangar and the iconic volcanic mountain of Kirkjufell.
We will begin our fourth day with a sunrise photo shoot at Kirkjufell, one of Iceland’s most iconic landscapes. Then we head towards the south coast to view and photograph the gigantic Skogafoss waterfall and then to the mesmerizing black sand beach of Reynisfjara known for its basalt columns, sea caves and vertical cliffs.
We will explore the Vatnajökull National Park, its landscapes of lava rocks, glittering glaciers and breathtaking waterfalls, as well as desert-like stretches of black sand.
Later, we will head to the glacial lagoon of Jökulsárlón, where large icebergs float on the surface of the water, before drifting out to sea. As the sun begins to set, we will go to the diamond beach, where we will have the opportunity to capture the magnificent sunlight shining through the ice chunks on the shore.
We begin the day with a sunrise photo session at the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. Afterwards, we will go on a 4-hour excursion to visit and photograph an ice cave. The rest of the day will be spent photographing the beautiful locations in this area.
Sunrise at the diamond beach. After breakfast, we will head towards the Stokksnes Peninsula where we will encounter the majestic Vestrahorn Mountain, known as the “Batman Mountain”. From the rolling snow-covered black sand dunes to the icy puddles and grassy fields, Vestrahorn’s foreground offers a variety of stunning compositions to photograph.
Skaftafell Nature Reserve. Here, you will be able to photograph glacier tongues, lagoons, the peaks of majestic snow-capped mountains, frozen waterfalls and rivers flowing from glaciers. We will visit the Fjadrargljufur Canyon. We will return along the south coast to Seljalandsfoss waterfall for sunset.
Today we will explore the Golden Circle, which includes three main attractions: the Þingvellir
National Park, where we can observe the tectonic rifts between the continental plates of Eurasia and America; the fascinating geothermal area of Geysir, where we will see the famous Strokkur geyser; and the massive Gullfoss waterfall, which is famous for its powerful double-tiered waterfall into a deep canyon.
When we have finished photographing along the Golden Circle, we will return to Keflavik.
It’s time to head home! Hopefully, you have cherished memories with a great bunch of fellow photography enthusiasts and have many beautiful images preserved in your camera as well!

Few people can boast of having travelled the high Himalayas like Manish has. For more than 15 years, he has explored these mountains extensively on foot, on bicycles and on two and four wheels, often making his own path. He is a versatile photographer with a history of creating brilliant images of culture, heritage and landscapes.
Photography holidays to interesting and often isolated places where you get up close with unique landscapes.

With Darter, we explored hidden gems and iconic spots perfect for unforgettable frames. The experience was incredible from start to finish.
Manish Lakhani was more than a guide, he was a mentor and friend, helping me grow through field guidance, concept reviews, post-processing, and image critiques.
It was deeply rewarding, and I can’t wait to travel with Darter again.
In 2024, I joined my first Darter trip to Iceland with Manish—and it felt nothing like a tour. It felt like family, powered by world-class photographers and storytellers.
Manish’s energy, terrain knowledge, and photography tips made every landscape come alive.
The best part? Five nights of Aurora Borealis. With Manish and the local team tracking KP, clouds, and perfect spots, we witnessed pure magic on camera and in memory.
